Timzack, theres no such thing as whites or blacks or yellows. These are all terms created to divide people by generalizing them in terms of color or race. The so called whites can come from wherever in the world just like blacks can come from whereever and so can Asians and anyone else. If you are talking about pride, you need to learn your hertiage if you dont know what it is. For example, you can have a Romanian background but living in the States.
Didn’t the term Model Minority come out in the 1970s? The term was suppose to set a stereotype that everyone of color is hardworking, but for some odd reason. It became associated with only Asians being hardworking. Which is total BS.

Well, I am not angry with you. A lot of what you say, many in every race can relate to what say. And for the record, I would never call you or anyone else names. No, it gets no one anywhere but back to square one. But on the model minority issue, I think blacks have turned to mostly civil rights leaders (i.e., Dr King & Malcom X)in the early stages of the movement along with the usual public figures, athletes and entertainers for role models.

I also notice that when they talk about the so-called model minority, they only focus on certain Asian ethnic groups. You rarely hear them talking about Laotians, Hmong, Cambodians and various other ethnic groups that statistically are much less successful than whites. Also, you have a point; the economic factors change depending on the economic standards of your environment. It’s like having a house in San Francisco versus having a house in a less expensive city.

hmmm…just one thing. i dont think the only reason blacks are not succeeding in the usa is because they were brought here unwillingly and therefore don’t have the same will or plan in mind to assimilate and succeed. the problem is also that all new immigrant groups, in order to succeed, have had to distinguish themselves from the black population. that is how the irish n others became white and that is (sadly) what many asian groups seek as well.
